Have you ever wondered what the difference is between Body Butter and Lotion, and when you should be using each?
Body Butter is is heavier than lotion and has an oily base. It is made using only natural butters and oils. It provides intensive moisturization for extremely dry skin. Body Butter does not absorb quickly, creating a protective barrier around the skin locking/sealing in moisture. This makes it ideal for nighttime use. (After a hot bath or shower and a Sugar Scrub is amazing!)
Lotion is much more lightweight and absorbs more quickly. Lotion is also made up of natural butters and oils, but it also has water in it. This requires emulsifying waxes (used to help the oils and waters blend well) and a preservative to prevent mold.
Since lotion is absorbed quickly, it puts moisture directly into the skin. This makes it ideal for daytime use!
